“What does Going Greek even mean?” my friend asked looking confused, “Like, are you ethnically greek or something?” This is a commonly asked question for people who were not in a fraternity or sorority in college. Back to school means rush for most Greeks (sorority and fraternity students). Rush or recruitment is the time when fraternities and sororities promote their houses for potential members. Last week was the end of girl’s rush and this week, guy’s rush begins.
A Pi Phi (sorority girl) who is also a Greek IV leader shares that she met so many women and had opportunities every day to invite girls to Greek IV events last week through rush. In fact there are 69 new members in her house, the biggest rush class ever for her sorority!
A Sig Ep (fraternity guy) who is also a Greek IV leader asked for prayer last week as he wants to be a witness in his house this week during rush! Please pray for all the sorority and fraternity students ending rush and for Greek IV as we begin to have our weekly gatherings, house bible studies and events!
